BEHIND THE LENS

Hi, I’m Chantal — a lifestyle and storytelling photographer based in the St. Albert & Edmonton area of Alberta, capturing heartfelt family moments, whimsical childhood portraits and the beautifully ordinary moments that deserve to be remembered.

I’m a mom to identical twin girls, married to my high school sweetheart and constantly finding myself with one more thrifted chair, vintage book or random prop than I realistically have room for.

My photography style is relaxed, child-led, emotional and inspired by connection over perfection. I’m drawn to the little in-between moments. Messy curls, tiny hands gripping a favourite toy, quiet cuddles, belly laughs, muddy boots and the kinds of memories that become more meaningful as time passes.

Some of my favourite sessions are storytelling childhood portraits. Images that feel timeless, nostalgic and full of wonder. The kind of photographs that won’t feel trendy years from now but instead become heirlooms your family treasures forever.

My home studio is kid-approved and pet-friendly, though there’s a good chance you may hear my hound dog announce your arrival before I do.

​

I’ve also been told I’m a bit of an oversharer but in the best way (at least in my opinion). I’m naturally conversational and genuinely love getting to know the families I photograph. My goal is always to make sessions feel relaxed and comfortable, like spending time with a friend rather than standing awkwardly in front of a camera.

 

One of the most rewarding parts of this job is watching families grow over the years. From maternity sessions, to newborn days, to wild toddlers and beyond. Being trusted to document those chapters over time is something I never take for granted.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me decorating, thrifting, rearranging furniture for the hundredth time, or dreaming up another creative session idea I probably don’t have time for but will absolutely try anyway.
